Elite Autocare feel the benefit of VoCoVo Link for their team communication

VoCoVo Partner, Brentwood Communications, are first to supply the Automotive industry with a next-generation headset solution

The Situation

Elite Autocare is a family-run garage and automotive parts business in Rainham, Essex. It provides a wide range of repair and maintenance services, including MOTs, tyre-fitting, wheel alignment and engine tuning, and stocks a large selection of alloy wheels, tyres and other premium parts.

The business operates out of extensive premises which include a 6,000 sq ft modern showroom and 18 vehicle repair bays.

The size and layout of Elite Autocare’s premises made on-site communications tricky. The workshop areas are spread out in three sections and are separate from the showroom and main office/reception area. Relaying information to colleagues in different areas meant physically walking there to talk to them. This caused delays and could be frustrating for customers. For example, if someone wanted an update on their vehicle repair, they could be left waiting in reception or on hold on the telephone for minutes at a time while a member of staff went to check with the mechanics.

Elite had not used any kind of team communication technology before. Deciding it was time to give the business’s own operations a tune-up, management did some online research and got in touch with VoCoVo, the market leader in DECT radio headsets. The company was then put in touch with Brentwood Communications, VoCoVo’s reseller partner.

Lightweight, comfortable and highly portable, VoCoVo’s push-to-talk headset solutions have historically been aimed at large retailers like supermarkets and department stores, providing staff with a convenient means of staying in touch with one another while allowing them to interact with customers as normal.

The Solution

In April 2024 VoCoVo Link was launched, a simplified, out-of-the-box headset system aimed at smaller format stores and businesses. Unlike the VoCoVo Enterprise systems, which utilise rack-mounted controllers and a series of base stations to provide coverage throughout large premises, VoCoVo Link combines an integrated DECT Hub and charging station with four headsets that connect to each other the instant they are powered up. The whole system takes just a few minutes to set up.

Although VoCoVo Link was designed with the convenience retail sector in mind, we saw its potential as the ideal fit for Elite Autocare’s needs.

The Elite Autocare team was so impressed with the impact of VoCoVo Link that they soon added a second unit with four more headsets.

Elite Autocare operations manager Chris Allum said: “The customer service we got from Brentwood in terms of talking through the options that would best suit our needs was excellent. The VoCoVo Link system has definitely delivered on its promises, as waiting times for customers are down and communication overall has improved immensely.”

Steve Bird, Channel Marketing Manager at VoCoVo, said: “As far as we know, Elite Autocare is one of the first automotive businesses to use a proper headset solution for team communication, so we’re excited to see VoCoVo Link being rolled out into new sectors like this. It’s a testament to the flexibility of the product and how it opens up new communication opportunities for small businesses across the board. We wish Elite Autocare all the best in their continuing pursuit of better team communication and customer service and are here to support their journey.

“Huge credit to Brentwood also, who are doing an excellent job as our partner, matching our solutions to new customers like this. It shows what great expertise they have in the radio communications market. We have an excellent working relationship with them and look forward to serving the needs of many more happy customers like Elite Autocare.”
