Troubleshooting Headset issues

This guide explains how to diagnose and solve issues with a single Series 5e Headset. The four Headsets supplied with your VoCoVo Link have already been paired with your Hub and are ready to use.

1

Troubleshoot the Hub

The Headsets rely on a fully working Hub, check the Troubleshooting Hub issues to see if that helps.

2

Verify Headset serial number

Your VoCoVo Link comes with four pre-registered Headsets. To confirm that a Headset has been registered with the Hub, check the list of four Headset serial numbers printed on the white label on the outside of your VoCoVo Link box. The serial number of the back of the Headset should match one of the numbers on the label on the box.

If your Headset’s serial number does not match any of the ones listed on your VoCoVo Link box, you will need to register the Headset. If you have more than one VoCoVo Link, check that you haven’t mixed up any Headsets first.

3

Power the Headset off and on again

With the Headset out of the charging Dock, press and hold the Volume button, then simultaneously press and hold the PTT button for 5 seconds. You will hear the announcement “Leaving conference 1” followed by “Power off” emitted from the Headset speakers. Wait 10 seconds, then press and hold the PTT button for 5 seconds to power the Headset on again.

4

Test two Headsets

  1. Remove two fully charged Headsets from the Dock and stay within a few metres of the Hub (the Hub is usually clipped into the back of the Dock).
  2. Test one Headset by pressing and holding the PTT button and speaking. You should hear your voice through the other Headset.

If you are still having problems, try using a different combination of Headsets to establish whether the problem is specific to one Headset.

5

Check battery level

The Headset status LED shows the battery level when the Headset is in the charging Dock. If the Headset LED is solid or blinking red when charging, the Headset battery is low. Leave the Headset in the Dock until the LED turns solid green.
